These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

Hey everyone, hope your week is going well so far. For today, I’m excited to announce a new series I’ll be posting over the next several days! I selected my favorite food products and I plan to review (both nutritionally and taste-wise) and show you fun ways to use them. Here’s a preview:
What we have here are:

  • Natural whole-wheat sandwich thins
  • Vitamin water
  • Larabar and Lunabar (see reviews here!)
  • Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel Bread
  • Archer Farms Granola
  • Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze
  • Plain Stonyfield Organic Yogurt
  • Zevia Natural Diet Soda
  • Chocolate Amazing Grass Superfood

side note:  I tried to pick products that I use at least 2-3 times a week, if not daily.  I also tried to pick ‘unique’ products that maybe you’ve never heard about or may have hear about and have an interest to see a review of.

That’s our line-up!  Stay tuned for details, and please comment on which foods you’d like to see reviewed first!

Let’s turn to running.  I’ve been increasing my mileage and start doing more speed work.  So far I’ve done 2 10-mile long runs, both went really well.  My easy days are becoming less frequent and my weight lifting is getting better.  I’m still not running as fast as I’d like, I’ve just been slow and sluggish, but it really depends on the weather too.  So far my soreness has been minimal and my injuries non-existent (*knock on wood*).  I’m going for a 50-mile week! Yikes!

As far as news that’s neither food nor running related, I received my Macbook Pro in the mail yesterday!  It’s really cool, but I’m still using my PC at least for the rest of the summer.  It came with a free iTouch, woohoo!

I have three questions for you all:

1.  What are some of your favorite food products?  Which products should I review first?

2.  How’s your summer running been going lately?

3.  Are you a Mac or PC?

Good questions…all things I love to talk about! 1. staple foods are whole grain pitas and Ezekiel breads, nut butters, Amy’s split pea soup, fresh produce, plain Greek yogurt, bananas (can you really review those though?), the whole foods salad and sushi bars, and Larabars. Have been thinking about trying amazing grass and almond breeze which I see above so I’d love to hear if they are really worth the money. 2. Running is going so well! No Achilles troubles, doing 50 mpw, and finally 8 min pace feels easy when with a group. Now if you leave me alone, I’ll go as slow as a poke. And weight lifting, that’s another story. No speedwork yet. I hate the stuff. Especially alone!!! 3. I’m a PC girl but Macs look so nice. I want a MacBook Pro for school, but I like that Windows has more programs so I would put the Windows operating system on it like my English teacher did. Alright, I’ll shut up now. Can’t wait to see your product reviews. I’m really excited because I got my hands on all of the new Larabars yesterday!! Wheeeeee.

  2. 1.) plain Dannon yogurt w/ honey and raisin bran is a new favorite, navel oranges, Nature Valley trail mix bars, coffee mate vanilla caramel creamer

2.) Eh, running is all right. I feel like my workouts should be better, though. I wanted to do a 50 mile week this week, but i don’t think it will happen due to my crazy internship schedule and the fact that I’ve been taking a day off every week to try to avoid injury. Hopefully I’ll be doing sold 50s for August and September, though.

3.)I go for PCs just because that’s what I’ve always known.
