Larabar and Luna Bar Reviews
I love Larabars and Luna Bars, they’ve saved me many times before/after a workout and while traveling. I’ve had almost every flavor, so I thought: why not do food reviews? Here’s how I do my rating:
1-horrible, couldn’t finish
2-bad
3-just okay
4-good
5-one of my favorites
Larabars are simple, 6 ingredient-or-less bars made of a Date base with nuts and other delicious ingredients added. The range from 180 to 230 calories, are high in ‘good’ fats, have only natural, non-added sugars, and a bit of protein.
I have tried almost all the flavors, except Cocoa Mole, Chocolate Coconut, Coconut Creme Pie, and Tropical Fruit tart, because I do not care for the taste of coconut *gasp* and I didn’t think I’d like the Cocoa Mole. I think I’ve had the Ginger Snap flavor, but I don’t remember so I’ll try to buy it when I find it and add it to the list. Also, Larabar recently came out with four new flavors: Carrot Cake, Chocolate Chip Brownie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip. I have not been able to find them in a store yet, but I will die of excitement the day I do…and then wake up and eat them
I have also tried a few of the Jocalat bars and hope to add those as well.

Ingredients: Dates, almonds, unsweetened apples, walnuts, raisins, cinnamon
Rating: 4
If you love the taste of appley, cinnamony, nutty pie at Thanksgiving, this is the bar for you! I enjoy this bar a lot, although the cinnamon can be almost too strong and the apples are pretty tart.
Banana Bread

Ingredients: Almonds, dates, unsweetened bananas
Rating: 5
I don’t know if it’s just that I’m a huge banana bread fan, but this chewy bar sends me back to the days of eating my great aunt’s undercooked, yet delicious banana bread. I am surprised they use almonds instead of the expected walnuts, but the almonds taste really good in it.

Cashew Cookie
Rating: 5
Very simple ingredient list! I’ve never had a real cashew cookie, but I sure love this bar! It tastes honest and simple, and like how I imagine a cashew cookie should taste.

Cherry Pie

Ingredients: Dates, Almonds, Unsweetened Cherries
Rating: 3
The cherries came off too tart to me, and it wasn’t as sweet as the other bars. Still delicious, but not one of my favorites.

Cinnamon Roll

Ingredients: Dates, almonds, walnuts, raisins, cashews, cinnamon
Rating: 4
Wow, this one sure packs in a lot of nuts! It has a great cinnamon flavor, however it doesn’t not taste too much like a cinnamon roll, besides the obvious cinnamoness, but still very yummy.

Lemon Bar

Ingredients: Dates, cashews, almonds, lemon juice concentrate, natural lemon flavor
Rating: 4
If you enjoy lemony things, you’ll definitely enjoy this lemon larabar. The lemon flavor is light and fresh and the almonds stand out as well.

Peanut Butter Cookie

Ingredients: Peanuts, dates, salt
Rating: 5
Unsurprisingly, the peanut flavored bar is my favorite. It tastes just like a peanut butter cookie, but this bar is way healthier!

Peanut Butter & Jelly

Ingredients: Dates, peanuts, unsweetened cherries, salt
Rating: 5
My favorite bar is the peanut butter cookie, so when this flavor came out, I wondered if it could stand up the my favorite, and it sure did! It tastes mostly the same as the peanut butter, but you get bites of cherries that add the ‘jelly’ factor.

Pecan Pie

Ingredients: Dates, pecans, almonds
Rating: 3
It has a wonderful taste of pecans, but it just didn’t bring it home for me.
